Solarix Networks partners with global LTE Network Solutions Provider Cradlepoint.
8 June 2016, Auckland, New Zealand: Solarix Networks Limited, one of New Zealand’s leading bespoke wide area network (WAN) service providers, announced today that it has partnered with Cradlepoint, the global leader in software defined 4G LTE network solutions for enterprises, to provide Cradlepoint solutions as part of Solarix’s mobility and failover suite in its ElasticWANTM portfolio.
“ElasticWANTM, Solarix’s Network as a Service (NaaS) offering, allows customers to scale network resources such as WAN connectivity, quality of service (QoS) parameters, Internet capacity, voice services and monitoring capability, on demand.” says Rudi Hefer, Director of Product and Marketing at Solarix. “Partnering with Cradlepoint means we can extend our connectivity options with the same feature rich capability as our wired WAN services to locations and customers where 3G and 4G LTE connectivity are the most appropriate last mile service. The addition of Cradlepoint’s capability also enables us to add exciting solutions such as same day WAN connectivity and robust, scalable failover propositions for our customers.” Hefer adds.
“ElasticWAN represents how SDN is enabling a new generation of agile managed network services that seamlessly bring together the wired and wireless worlds. We share this vision and are pleased to be Solarix’s supplier-of-choice for software-defined 4G LTE network solutions that will enable their service to support a wide array of connectivity use cases, such as eftpos, remote health, mobile workforce, fleet-based networks and intelligent WAN failover. Solutions like ElasticWAN demonstrate how the convergence of SDN and 4G LTE technologies is enabling enterprises to connect and protect their people, places and things anywhere with unprecedented ease and efficacy,” said Ian Pennell, CMO at Cradlepoint. “Cradlepoint is at the forefront of this convergence and we are delighted to a part of bringing this new way to deliver WANs to New Zealand.”
Solarix made a move into Software Defined Networking (SDN) in late 2015, allowing it to orchestrate network resources using its mysolarixtm software platform, which is developed by its in house software development team. “Developing our bespoke SDN enabled NaaS ecosystem has allowed Solarix to streamline internal resources and expose feature rich customer self management capability allowing customers to provision their own network resources, manage service parameters on-demand and have full visibility of network activity at all times.” concludes Hefer.
The first iteration of mysolarixtm was released to customers on the 1st of April 2016 and has further scheduled feature launches this year. –ENDS–
